All the men in your confederacyShall force you to the border;The men at peace with youShall deceive you and prevail against you.Those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you.No one is aware of it.

Thus says the Lord concerning the prophetsWho make my people stray;Who chant “Peace”While they chew with their teeth,But who prepare war against himWho puts nothing into their mouths:

And this One shall be peace.When the Assyrian comes into our land,And when he treads in our palaces,Then we will raise against himSeven shepherds and eight princely men.

Behold, on the mountainsThe feet of him who brings good tidings,Who proclaims peace!O Judah, keep your appointed feasts,Perform your vows.For the wicked one shall no more pass through you;He is utterly cut off.

Be silent in the presence of the Lord God;For the day of the Lord is at hand,For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice;He has invited His guests.

‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

I will cut off the chariot from EphraimAnd the horse from Jerusalem;The battle bow shall be cut off.He shall speak peace to the nations;His dominion shall be ‘from sea to sea,And from the River to the ends of the earth.’

So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.”

For before these daysThere were no wages for man nor any hire for beast;There was no peace from the enemy for whoever went out or came in;For I set all men, everyone, against his neighbor.

‘For the seed shall be prosperous,The vine shall give its fruit,The ground shall give her increase,And the heavens shall give their dew—I will cause the remnant of this peopleTo possess all these.
