Kings shall be your foster fathers,And their queens your nursing mothers;They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth,And lick up the dust of your feet.Then you will know that I am the Lord,For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.”

He will not fail nor be discouraged,Till He has established justice in the earth;And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

For Sheol cannot thank You,Death cannot praise You;Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

My righteousness is near,My salvation has gone forth,And My arms will judge the peoples;The coastlands will wait upon Me,And on My arm they will trust.

Moreover those who work in fine flaxAnd those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;

Then they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and Egypt their glory.

You are wearied in the length of your way;Yet you did not say, ‘There is no hope.’You have found the life of your hand;Therefore you were not grieved.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
